LIRR cross-honoring MetroCards for customers affected by overnight subway system

Updated Feb 22, 2021

Beginning on Monday, February 22, and continuing until further notice, NYC Transit subway service will be suspended from 2 a.m.–4 a.m., daily, to allow for increased cleaning and disinfecting of subway cars and stations.

During this time, the Long Island Rail Road will accommodate MetroCard holders by providing free train service for travel to/from the following stations:

Manhattan:

  • Penn Station

Brooklyn:

  • Atlantic Terminal
  • East New York
  • Nostrand Avenue

Queens:

  • Auburndale
  • Bayside
  • Broadway
  • Douglaston
  • Flushing-Main Street
  • Forest Hills
  • Hollis
  • Jamaica
  • Kew Gardens
  • Laurelton
  • Little Neck
  • Locust Manor
  • Mets-Willets Point
  • Murray Hill
  • Queens Village
  • Rosedale
  • Woodside

Customers are advised to check the LIRR’s online schedules before traveling as overnight LIRR train service is less frequent than subway service.
