Golf: There are five courses open to the public. Tee times can be made seven days in advance for New York state residents and two days in advance for non-residents. Some tee times are set-aside on a “first-come, first-served” basis. For reservations, call 516-249-0700, or make them online.
Tennis: Monday-Friday from 7-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. for hard and clay courts. You can make reservations by calling 516-777-1358.

Take the LIRR to visit Fire Island National Seashore, located off of Long Island’s South Shore. Enjoy nature trails and hikes; swim, surf, and fish; and explore the grounds of the William Floyd Estate and the Fire Island Lighthouse.
Getting there: Fire Island is accessible by ferry and car. Several LIRR stations are near ferry services.
- To get to Fire Island’s western communities, take LIRR’s Montauk Branch to Bay Shore for Fire Island Ferries. To get to the Fire Island Lighthouse, take the ferry to Kismet and then take a water taxi to the lighthouse.
- To get to to Sailors Haven, Cherry Grove, Fire Island Pines, or Water Island, take LIRR’s Montauk Branch to Sayville to connect with Sayville Ferry Service.
- To get to Watch Hill or Davis Park, take the train to Patchogue to connect with Davis Park Ferry service.
- To get to the William Floyd Estate, take the train to Mastic Beach and then a taxi to the estate.

For the first time, cyclists and pedestrians now can cross the Hudson River between Westchester and Rockland counties. The path features six overlooks and interpretive displays, with public art at each landing. See details online.
Getting there: Take Metro-North to the Tarrytown Station or White Plains Station and catch Hudson Link to the path.
On the weekends there is a free shuttle bus from Tarrytown Station, or you can take the H07 bus.
If you are traveling through White Plains, hop on the H05 bus to South Nyack stop. That’s near path’s Rockland Landing.

- Walkway over the Hudson State Historic Park

- Magazzino Italian Art

Magazzino Italian Art is a museum and research center located in Cold Spring, New York, devoted to Italian Postwar and Contemporary Art. Magazzino, meaning warehouse in Italian, was co-founded by Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu.
Designed by Spanish architect Miguel Quismondo, the 20,000 square-foot structure was completed in June 2017. Magazzino serves as a resource for scholars and students and offers an extensive library and archive of Italian Art. In addition, Magazzino has become a cultural hub for the vibrant Hudson Valley community thanks to the joint programs with local organizations.

Getting there: Magazzino Italian Art is located a 10-minute drive from the Cold Spring train station, served by Metro-North Railroad trains on the Hudson line ending in Poughkeepsie. Travel time is 70 minutes from Grand Central Station.

The free Union Station-Downtown Shuttle runs continuously every 20 minutes, from 6:05 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. The shuttle travels from Union Station on Union Avenue, up North Frontage Road, Orange Street, Church Street, Chapel Street, Temple Street, George Street and State Street. It then heads back on Union Avenue to Union Station.
