Subway and rail service changes: November 18-21

There are service changes on the subway, LIRR, and Metro-North this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.
Updated November 18, 2022 9:00 a.m.

It's the week before Thanksgiving, which means we're already deep into gridlock season, or the time of year when trying to get around the city by car is really difficult. The solution: take public transit! Our subways, buses, and railroads are here to get you where you need to go this weekend. (If that happens to be the airport, for you early holiday travelers, don't forget that Q70 bus service to and from LaGuardia Airport is free!)

Whatever you're up to this weekend, you'll want to know about service changes before you head out. Here's what's going on:

  •  trains aren't running between Manhattan and Queens
  •  trains aren't running between Inwood-207 St and 168 St
  •  trains aren't running between Norwood-205 St and 161 St-Yankee Stadium
  •  trains aren't running between between Kew Gardens-Union Tpke and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer

  •  trains aren't running between 57 St-7 Av and Lexington Av/63 St
  •  trains aren't running between Jefferson Av and Tottenville

For more detailed breakdowns, keep on scrolling — we’ve also got travel alternatives for stations that will be closed or skipped.

And don't forget to sign up for the MTA Weekender, a newsletter sent every Friday. You'll get these service changes directly in your inbox, with more than enough time to plan your weekend travel. Subscribe here
