The Central Business District Tolling Program is temporarily paused pending necessary approvals.
Program overview
Starting on June 30, 2024, vehicles entering the area of Manhattan south of and including 60 Street will be charged a toll. The purpose of the toll is to reduce gridlock in what is now one of the most congested districts in the country.
Under the approved Toll Rate Schedule, FHV dispatching bases and taxi Technology System Providers (TSPs) licensed with the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission are eligible to have their vehicles charged a small charge for every trip to/from/within/through the Congestion Relief Zone (CBD Trips) instead of the daily $15 toll.
High-Volume For-Hire Vehicles enrolled in the Per-Trip Charge Plan (PTCP) will be subject to a $2.50 charge for each CBD Trip. Yellow taxis, green cabs, and other For-Hire Vehicles will be subject to a $1.25 charge for each CBD Trip.
Eligible companies enrolled in the PTCP will collect the per-trip charges from passengers on all CBD Trips and remit them to the MTA. Eligible companies that remain in good standing under the PTCP program agreement will not be subject to the standard toll rate when entering the Congestion Relief Zone.
FHV enrollment
Enrolling FHVs in the Per-Trip Charge Plan (PTCP) is done through their operating or dispatching bases. FHV operating and dispatch bases seeking to enroll their vehicles in the PTCP program will need to execute and deliver the PTCP agreement to the MTA. For more information and to sign up for the plan, please contact CRZtaxifhv-support@mta.info.
Yellow and green taxi enrollment
Enrolling yellow and green taxis in the Per-Trip Charge Plan (PTCP) is done through their TSPs that provide payment technology within the vehicle. TSPs seeking to enroll their vehicles in the program will need to execute and deliver the PTCP agreement to the MTA. For more information and to sign up for the plan, please contact CRZtaxifhv-support@mta.info.
