UniRail: Metro-North Railroad and CT rail
Joint one-way, weekly, and monthly tickets, known as UniRail, are available from Metro-North New Haven Line stations to CT rail Shore Line East and Hartford Line stations. These tickets are only available at ticket machines or ticket offices, and are not available on the TrainTime app.
Joint tickets from CT rail stations to New Haven Line stations are sold at CT rail ticket machines at those stations and on the CT rail eTix app.
Riders transferring from Shore Line East or Hartford Line trains to Metro-North at New Haven may buy their continuing ticket from the Metro-North conductor at the regular price (no onboard surcharge) by showing their ticket from the connecting train.
UniTicket
UniTickets are add-ons to LIRR and Metro-North monthly and weekly tickets that allow you to ride local transit to or from the station at a significant discount over buying separate monthly or weekly passes.
You can add two UniTickets to your Metro-North ticket if you use a different connecting service on each end of your trip. In most cases, the combined fare will be charged, but a discount applies to certain buses in Connecticut (see Connecticut section below). A UniTicket can only be purchased together with a rail ticket.
UniTickets are only sold at ticket offices and ticket machines. They are not available on the TrainTime app. Show the ticket to the bus operator or ferry crew member as you board.
Long Island Rail Road
Queens
