Attending an MTA Board meeting

The MTA Board meets approximately the third week of each month, with the exception of August, when no board meeting is usually held. Exact dates are posted on this page about 30 days before each meeting. Please note that schedules are subject to change.

In-person meetings are held at MTA Board Room, 2 Broadway, 20th Floor. Meeting attendees are required to go through a security screening upon entering the building. Meetings may begin up to 30 minutes before scheduled start time. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

During the coronavirus pandemic, our meetings are livestreamed. You can watch the meeting live, and you’ll be able to prerecord a comment that will be delivered to the MTA Board.

How to speak during a meeting

The MTA welcomes public comments at our board and committee meetings from a range of New Yorkers.

Board meetings

Public comment registration opens 35 minutes before full Board meetings, and closes 5 minutes before the start the meeting. Registration can be done in person or online. Statements must be about agenda items only. There is a two-minute speaking limit. Speaking time may not be transferred.

Remote speakers will have the opportunity to make their comments live, during the meeting, but must register online during the meeting registration period. Check here for details about how to register and access the remote public comment virtual session.

The Board meeting will include up to 60 minutes of in-person and remote comments, combined. Registered speakers beyond that time frame are invited to separately record their comments. All comments are delivered to the MTA Board and posted online.

Committee meetings

Committee meetings will include up to 60 minutes of in person comments. Those who wish to speak in person at a Committee meeting must register in person at 2 Broadway.

Registration opens 20 minutes before and closes 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start of each committee meeting. Statements must be about agenda items only. There is a two-minute speaking limit. Speaking time may not be transferred.
